My media diet in 24 hours. On Jan 13, 2026
5:30 AM Reddit
I woke up, and before I got in the shower, I opened Reddit and viewed some funny football memes. I was only on for about 5 minutes before I jumped into the shower to start my day.
6:00 AM Insight Timer
Every morning, I meditate using an app on my phone called Insight Timer. I use this to track my meditations, and sometimes I'll do a guided meditation. However, I usually just use it as a timer to start my day in a spiritual and mindful manner. Today I just did a quick 8-minute meditation.
6:30 AM Substack, Instagram, Ground News
I logged on for work and opened Substack to see what some of the independent journalists I follow are saying. There was an article by Aaron Parnas discussing recent events, including the possible indictment of Fed Chair Jerome Powell. I switch over to Instagram and flip through some reels looking for more news about what is going on in Minnesota. I then open Ground News and see an article about Viktor Orban and how he has a tough election challenge.
8:45 AM Pimsleur
I opened the Pimsleur app to start practicing my Spanish while I had some downtime during work. I am actively learning Spanish in preparation for my trip to Mexico in April.
10:00 AM YouTube
During my lunch, I watched the monologues of Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers. I also watched an independent journalist named Bryan Tyler Cohen. This gives me a good laugh, and I do get some headlines of the news. I don’t take this news very seriously since it is written in a satirical manner.
6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Microsoft Teams
I should put this in here, too. I am on Microsoft Teams collaborating with coworkers on our daily work activities. This includes video meetings as well as chat-based collaboration.
11:30 AM Reddit and Instagram
I have been flipping back and forth between Reddit and Instagram. When I have some downtime at work, I usually read subreddits and scroll through Instagram feeds.
11:45 PM Spotify
As I was working, I turned on one of my favorite podcasts. This was mostly for some background noise, but I do listen to them frequently during my work hours.

4:50 PM Canvas
I started working on some schoolwork on Canvas. I completed Module 1 in all of my classes.
6:30 PM-8:30 PM Disney Plus, Instagram, Reddit
I wind down my day watching Andor with my husband. I also used this time to scroll through Instagram and Reddit more.
9:15 PM Hulu
I end the day in bed watching Schitt's Creek. I’ve already seen all the episodes, but it is a comforting show before I drift off to sleep. This is a pretty typical weekday for me.
